Cultural Liaison Officer Identified
High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Aitkenvale
The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision of offenders subject to a supervision order pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) residing throughout Queensland and the electronic monitoring of offenders on parole. It comprises of the following work groups:
-HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
-HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from Wacol
-HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville and;
-The Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Unit (EMSU), responsible for the Statewide GPS monitoring of DPSOA offenders and offenders subject to Parole Supervision.

The essential requirements for this role are:
*Ability to contribute to and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
*Current knowledge and interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues, trends and practices and their impact on criminal behaviour with a drive for continual learning and professional development.
*Proven ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships (particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations) including where the working relationship is at distance, in order to promote positive service outcomes.
*Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to maintain effective internal and external professional partnerships.
*Self-awareness and ability to be a positive representative of QCS and ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in alignment with QCS values and priorities.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to produce written reports, represent QCS and contribute within forums and meetings.
*Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of issues and information.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
*The incumbent may be required to travel on official business. The possession of a C class licence is required and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel.
