The Senior Adviser Service Governance and Support is responsible for assisting with program management of rehabilitation and reintegration services to offenders. The role supports the implementation of rehabilitation and reintegration models within QCS and undertakes ongoing monitoring of rehabilitation and reintegration services for offenders with the view to continuous improvement of service delivery.
It will assist in ensuring that contracted services are delivered as intended in terms of overall outcomes sought by the Agency, and that they are provided in accordance with relevant standards, key performance indicators, agreed program outputs and outcomes within agreed timeframes. In addition, this position provides assistance, training and support to Agency staff and contracted providers delivering rehabilitation and reintegration services within correctional centres and community.

The Senior Adviser Service Governance and Support will:

  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of rehabilitation and reintegration services in accordance with endorsed models and contracts with external providers.
  • Monitor the delivery of rehabilitation and reintegration services state-wide and promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Coordinate quality assurance processes for the delivery of rehabilitation and reintegration services.
  • Coordinate site monitoring processes to support service design integrity and monitor adherence to the relevant performance and outcome indicators.
  • Monitor the delivery of rehabilitation and reintegration services to ensure quality and relevance particularly to priority groups such as women, people who identify as First Nations, youthful offenders and offenders with a disability.
  • Develop and provide staff training regarding offender rehabilitation and reintegration services.
  • Maintain knowledge in the offender rehabilitation and reintegration fields.
  • Assist with the preparation of strategic advice, correspondence and reports on rehabilitation and reintegration services and their delivery within the Agency.
  • Research and analyse offender rehabilitation and reintegration practices and methods.
  • Provide timely advice to key stakeholders relating to new developments in the area of offender rehabilitation and reintegration.
  • Prepare significant reports and provide timely advice.
  • Support contractors and staff in dealing with complex re-entry situations or requirements and provide assistance to resolve service delivery issues.
  • Collaborate with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services business units and other QCS areas regarding appropriate delivery of the various reintegration and rehabilitation service components and programs.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to emerging risks in rehabilitation and reintegration service delivery including appropriate liaison with Principal Advisers and Managers within Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative internal and external relationships.
  • Provide information to support collaborative relationships with Offender Rehabilitation and Management Services, other sections of the Agency, contracted service providers and the community sector.
  • Maintain knowledge of work activities, practice issues, research and evidence related to the operational delivery of rehabilitation and reintegration services.

There are no mandatory qualifications, conditions or requirements for this role.

Possession of degree qualifications will be highly regarded.

Travel may be a requirement for this position as this position may be required to work at different sites.
