Clinical Nurse Operating Theatre (Obstetric/Gynaecological)

Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the team within the Operating Theatre (Obstetric/Gynaecological) Team on a Permanent part-time basis, 28 hours per fortnight within the Surgical Service Group.
Eligible health workers who make the move (interstate or international) to work with us may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme (conditions apply).

About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse will provide direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the unit to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care. The Clinical Nurse (CN) is responsible for training of new staff in obstetric/gynaecological, ordering of clinical supplies and equipment and rostering staff allocated to the theatre in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure that theatre templates are covered.
The Obstetric/Gynaecological operating theatre runs five days a week with and additional theatre list occurring on Monday's and Wednesday's.
Skills and experience:
- Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
- Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
- Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
- Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
- Demonstrated ability and skills to perform the roles of a Instrument Nurse/Circulatory Nurse in accordance with Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards.
- Current and extensive experience working in a Obstetric/Gynaecological Operating Theatre is essential.
Generous remuneration package value up to $48,738 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
- Annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
