An exciting opportunity exists for an Administration Officer to join the Staff Health Hub team at the Townsville University Hospital for a permanent full-time role.

This position provides administrative support to the Staff Health Hub as an integral part of the Infection Prevention and Control team across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Infection Prevention and Control Unit
The primary objective of the infection prevention and control service is to prevent healthcare-associated infections, promote patient safety, and ensure staff well-being. This is accomplished through the delivery of expert advice and a service-oriented approach that prioritizes preventing healthcare-associated infections, improving patient safety, safeguarding staff from workplace-acquired infections, averting harm, and offering tailored guidance to our patients and staff.

Role responsibilities

  • Provide high quality secretarial/administrative support to the infection prevention and control team.
  • Deliver exceptional person-centred customer service to staff members accessing the Staff Health Hub in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Conduct respiratory fit testing in accordance with the respiratory fit testing program.
  • Collate, track and maintain vaccine preventable disease database in accordance with the Vaccination Preventable Disease (VPD) process.
  • Independently manage the VPD recall process for staff across the THHS.
  • Manage the interface between staff vaccinations and the Australian Immunisation Register.
  • Collate and track hand hygiene auditor submissions across the ACSQHS site to ensure compliance with the national hand hygiene initiative.
  • Assist with the management of staff biohazard injuries by creating encounters in ieMR.
  • Produce recall letters for staff and track responses for staff exposed to occupational exposures.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas for meetings, recording of accurate minutes and identify and monitor actions from meetings.

Employment Term

  • Permanent full-time

Generous remuneration package value up to $94,810 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $2864.10 - $3185.10 p.f. (AO3)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Other employment benefits may include: salary sacrificing options, locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs and access to corporate discounts

Role requirements

  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate.  Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
