Role responsibilities
Policy and Program Development
You will have responsibility for the following activities and tasks:
• Develop and implement evidence-based policies and programs aligned with Queensland Government priorities, ensuring compliance with legislative, regulatory and ethical standards, and providing advice to senior management on emerging policy issues and trends.
• Conduct research and analysis to support policy development and program design, including identifying complex policy challenges and contributing to cross agency working groups or committees to address these challenges.
• Prepare high-quality briefing notes, reports, and submissions for senior management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective consultation and engagement.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of policies and programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
Data Analytics and Business Insights
You will have responsibility for the following activities and tasks:
• Collect, analyse, and interpret data to provide actionable insights for decision making, ensuring they alignment with organisational objectives by identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in data analytics processes and tools and contribute to strategic advice for senior management.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support business objectives. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of analytics tools and processes, implementing improvements as needed to ensure outputs meets diverse stakeholder needs and effectively communicate data trends.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and deliver tailored solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and provide guidance and mentoring to team members to enhance data literacy and analytics capabilities across the organisation.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in line with Queensland Government standards.
• Contribute to the development of predictive models and other advanced analytics tools.
