Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.

Working with us

  • Base salary ranges between $75,090 and $103,261 p.a. (HWF3).
  • For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,000.
  • Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
  • Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.

About the role

The NWHHS Community Palliative Care team provides comprehensive and compassionate care to address Palliative Care needs for clients and their families living in the Northwest region.

Provide a culturally responsive primary healthcare service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families.

Assist clients by acting in a liaison and support role to ensure that they understand and can actively participate in their own health care.

Requirements

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
  • Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health; or Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe , are encouraged to apply for this vacancy). Please refer to the Role Description for further information regarding the qualifications and requirements.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History / Aged Care checks.
  • Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check, from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
