Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.

- Base salary ranges between $2,794 and $3,842 per fortnight. (HWF3).

About the role
The Indigenous Liaison Officer will provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander inpatients and their families throughout their patient journey, during their stay at Mount Isa Hospital and contribute to the discharge planning process. Working alongside health professionals and other staff, the role is to assist to improve the sensitivity and understanding of all health care providers with respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural beliefs and other issues that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopl.
Requirements
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply for this vacancy.

- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
