Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.
Working with us
- Base salary ranges between $75,090 and $103,261 p.a. (HWF3).
- For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,000.
- Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.

About the role
Working in collaboration with the Cardiac Services multi-disciplinary team the Advanced Health Worker delivers culturally safe and effective cardiac health services.
Requirements
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Successful completion of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) - Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health; or Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
- Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply for this vacancy.
- Experience in cardiac conditions and health promotion would be well regarded but not essential.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check; from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
