About the role

Permanent full time role

Demonstrated local cultural knowledge and exercise cultural respect and safety at the individual and family levels and provide cultural awareness training to non-local health staff.

Conduct clinical activities in client assessment, measurement, observations and deliver client focused education

Knowledge of the community and health information systems used in the clinic setting including tele-health and patient care systems, with attention to detail in recording data.

Requirements

  • It is a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
  • Mandatory requirements are a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health or Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks and a ‘working with children check, from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
