Permanent full time, 76 hours per fortnight

The Mornington Island Health Service is part of the North West Hospital and Health Service and provides outpatient facilities, accident and emergency services, and trauma retrieval in conjunction with Aboriginal Health and Community Health Services. In addition, it provides health prevention programs and initiatives to promote the well-being of the community and manages chronic disease. Mornington Island Hospital is a Level 1, 11 bed hospital which provides primary and secondary care for a largely indigenous community that is approximately 2 hours in flight from Mount Isa. Population is approximately 1200 people

MORNINGTON ISLAND (GUNANA) is located north of Mt Isa in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 28km from the mainland. It achieved self-governance in 1978.

About the role

Providing efficient and effective administrative support to patient/client, staff and external agencies as directed by line supervisor or senior staff and in accordance with relevant task list.

Supporting continued improvement of health services by always participating in quality improvement opportunities.

Exceling in patient safety by active contribution to a framework of sound clinical governance.

To be part of a team that actively contributes to patient safety by following policies, procedures and protocols of the North West Hospital and Health Service.

Requirements

  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
  • A period of 3 month probation may apply.
