Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Physiotherapist to join the team at Child Development Service located in Kirwan Health Campus. This position is on a permanent full-time or part-time (hours negotiable) and sits within our Women's and Children's Service Group.

Kirwan Health Campus, consists of four community health facilities which offers a range specialist services to the community. These services are Child Development Service, Infant Management Parenting Skills Centre, Midwifery Group Practice, Oral Health Services, Older Persons Community Services, Adult Community Health, Community Mental Health Services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Program, Mobile Women’s Health Clinic, Prosthetic and Orthotic Services, Genetic Counselling Service.

The opportunity 
The Physiotherapist works within a community based, multidisciplinary, developmental paediatric allied health service and deliver base level physiotherapy clinical services to children with complex needs. 

This service aims to provide integrated and holistic assessment and management to children within a family centred and transdisciplinary model of care and support transition to ongoing early intervention services where indicated.

Generous  remuneration package value  up to $132,730 p.a.  comprising:

  • Salary rates between $2941.70 - $4459.00 p.f. (full-time) / $38.70-$58.67 p.h. (part-time) (HP3)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Professional Development allowance + leave
  • Other employment benefits may include: salary sacrificing options, locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs and access to corporate discounts

Role requirement

  • At least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Deliver a base level clinical services (which includes assessment, analysis, health specific intervention, and case management) for children with complex development delays.
  • Work co-operatively and effectively in a transdisciplinary, community based paediatric allied health team.
  • Undertake your practice within a family partnership framework.
  • Demonstrate effective communication in both clinical and operational domains with clients, managers, peers and other stakeholders.
  • Support the clinical supervision of students at Child Development Service.
  • Actively participate in service planning and development within the Child Development Service.
