Your opportunity:

Anaesthetists at the Townsville University Hospital have the opportunity to deliver high quality anaesthetic and perioperative care to patients from the Townsville HHS area and referred tertiary patients from as far afield as the whole of North Queensland.

Undertake a broad range of anaesthetic and perioperative practice and there are opportunities to develop special clinical interests across a wide range of specialties.

Lead and manage the provision of medical services in a hospital, community and outreach setting.

Research and teaching at under-graduate and post-graduate levels are encouraged.

Permanent full-time role, 80 hours per fortnight.

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to provide proof of qualification and Specialist registration with AHPRA.

FANZCA preferred.

Experience, capability and recency in anaesthetic and perioperative care for patients undergoing complex procedures, with complexity commensurate with, and expected in, a tertiary referral hospital setting.

A 6-month probationary period may apply. 

Pre-employment screening, including criminal history checks and VPD risk role compliance, will be conducted for the successful applicant.

Our offer:

Generous remuneration package value up to $564,048 p.a., comprising:

  • Base salary between $204,206 and $258,910 p.a. (L18-L27)
  • employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%)
  • 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% loading
  • Attraction and retention incentive allowance (50% base salary)
  • Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
  • Motor vehicle allowance - $21,000 or $25,500 p.a.
  • Professional development allowance of $21,500 p.a. + 3.6 weeks p.a. leave
