About the opportunity:

Position: Nurse Practitioner (Chronic Kidney Disease)

Vacancy: Permanent full-time

Location: Renal Unit, North Ward Townsville

This is an advanced and extended level of Nursing Practice in the Chronic Kidney Disease and Home Dialysis Unit at The Townsville Hospital and Satellite Sites at the North Ward Campus. This will include services generally not included in a Registered Nurses' role i.e. prescribing medications, specialist referrals, pathology and medical imaging.

  • Salary range: $149,259 to $155,831 p.a. (Nurse Grade 8)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Master of Nursing Science (Nurse Practitioner) or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate as a Nurse Practitioner. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties - A Nurse Practitioner will be required to complete THHS credentialing at commencement of their role, it is then a requirement to be completed 3 yearly.
  • From time-to-time this position will be required to travel to, and work at, other facilities located within the Rural Hospitals Service Group network to participate in meetings for planning, quality, performance, training and education, or clinical activities.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
