Physiotherapy Department, Allied Health Service Division, Townsville Hospital and Health Service

Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

The cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

Applications will be considered from currently enrolled (2025) 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Physiotherapy students.

About the opportunity:

Position: Physiotherapy Cadet

Vacancy: Casual position (please note there are four positions available).

Location: Physiotherapy Department, Allied Health Service Division, Townsville Hospital and Health Service

The cadet performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.  Applications will be considered from currently enrolled (2025) 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Physiotherapy students.

  • Salary range: $38.69 to $45.51 p.h. (HP1)
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty. 
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess proof of enrolment in a recognised Physiotherapy tertiary-level program that results in a Physiotherapy qualification. 
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
