Position: Senior Supply Officer

Vacancy: Casual, non-standard hours, multiple positions

Location: Townsville University Hospital

Are you ready to jump into an exciting casual role as a Senior Supply Officer at Townsville University Hospital? This is a hands-on position where you'll be at the heart of our daily operations where every day brings a new challenge and opportunity to make a difference!

The Supply Operations team provide imprest and goods receiving services at Townsville University Hospital and an imprest service to our outlying facilities in the Townsville area. 

Our Senior Supply Officers are responsible for various tasks essential to the efficient distribution of clinical consumables, including ordering ward requirements using an imprest system, unloading trucks, receipting, and delivery, unpacking and stock rotation in the ward storerooms.

About the role:

Our Senior Supply Officers undertake two main functions:

  • Imprest management in the wards, and
  • Goods receiving services at the hospitals main loading dock.

Imprest management includes ordering clinical consumables using barcode scanners in the wards, unpacking deliveries, assisting in unloading trucks, receipting, stock rotation, identify changes to usage and manage the imprest lists in consultation with the Nurse Unit Managers.

Goods receiving services includes assisting in unloading trucks, receipting, distribution, and delivery to store locations.

Involves managing the loading dock for Supply Operations services, work closely with other departments that also use the loading dock, and accept, check and goods receipt deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance.

About you:

  • Movement and physical suitability to perform the manual handling tasks associated with completing the role.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, practices relevant to the warehousing and distribution functions.
  • Ability to communicate and liaise effectively with clients and staff.
  • Ability to acquire the knowledge and skills to operate motor vehicles and materials handling equipment.
