The Research Unit at Townsville University Hospital are seeking a Clinical Nurse to undertake a temporary part-time Clinical Trial Coordinator role.
The role commences 01/07/2025 - 30/06/2026, working 56 hours per fortnight, with a possibility of an additional 12 month extension.
Ideally seeking applicants with past trial coordinator experience greater than 2 years and possession of relevant post graduate qualification in clinical care or research.
This position requires complex, problem-solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of clinical trial patients with complex care needs.

About the opportunity:
Position: Clinical Nurse (Clinical Trial Coordinator - Start Up Team)
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary part-time from 01/07/2025 up to 30/06/20265 with possibility of an additional 12 month extension.
Location: Research Unit, Townsville University Hospital
The Clinical Nurse - Clinical Trials Coordinator is an advanced clinical based role for a registered nurse/midwife to support the set-up, conduct and management of interventional clinical trials unit within Townsville Hospital and Health Service. This position requires complex, problem-solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of clinical trial patients with complex care needs.

- Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (NG6-1)
PLEASE NOTE - As this is a Multidiscipline position, the successful applicant will be paid at the higher HP4 wage rate - 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Good Clinical Practice certification.
- Travel: Please note, from time-to-time this position will be required to travel by aircraft to study meeting locations in Australia and/or internationally for education requirements related to clinical trials operating in the unit. This may involve day and/or overnight stays. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
- Highly Desirable:
- Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical care or research.
- Clinical experience or past trial coordination experience greater than 24 months.
- The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including the Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point.
