Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island; operating 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Townsville University Hospital, the largest tertiary hospital in northern Australia, provides specialist referral services for people living from Mackay up to the Torres Strait and out to the Northern Territory border.

About the opportunity:

Position: Occupational Therapy Clinical Education Leader – Program Quality

Vacancy: Temporary Part-time (19/05/2025 - 17/05/2026) with the possibility of an extension up to 12 months / 38 Hours per fortnight

Location: Townville - potential other locations will be considered

  • Salary range: $73.12 to $76.30 p.h. (HP5)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration 

  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Occupational Therapy, and current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based principles and professional reasoning to facilitate the quality of clinical education including responses to novel and/or complex occupational therapy clinical education issues within a state-wide context.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic partnerships on a state-wide basis and provide advice regarding evidence informed clinical education strategies to senior managers, interprofessional colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
