The Complex Chronic Disease Service at Townsville University Hospital are seeking an experienced and client focused Nurse Navigator (Cancer Care Coordinator) to support and guide patients accessing Oncology Services - Adult.
This is a temporary part-time role, up to 30/06/2028, working 40 hours per fortnight).
The Nurse Navigator promotes innovative and contemporary best practice health care, throughout all phases of the cancer continuum.
They improve patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and innovative models of care, whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of patient populations, the community and the health care service.

Position: Nurse Navigator (Cancer Care Coordinator)
Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary part-time up to 30/06/2028 (40 hours per fortnight).
Location: Oncology Services - Adult, Chronic Disease Service, Townsville University Hospital
Nurse Navigators provide comprehensive, advanced clinical and professional practice nursing capabilities to deliver a positive patient centred health experience for individuals and offer navigational support for all stakeholders within their health care network. They work in close partnership with patients, families and all health and associated services across system boundaries to actively advocate and improve health literacy, health care experience and quality of life. This integrated and proactive approach to health care service delivery will help ensure patients receive the most appropriate services when and where they need it.

- Salary range: $66.85 to $72.58 p.h. (NG7)
- 4 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
- Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
- Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
