Position: Social Worker

Vacancy: Casual, non-standard hours, multiple positions

Location: Townsville University Hospital

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to provide Social Work clinical services, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, to the patients across the health service to optimise psychosocial outcomes and achieve maximum healthcare benefits for patients and families.  Clinical services are delivered in a manner that ensures the social, emotional, cultural and environmental circumstances of the patient and/or their carer are valued and fosters professional and ethical excellence.

Enjoy generous casual rates $49.83 to $73.24 p.h. (HP3)

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications: at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in social work that provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Roster / Clinical Rotations: The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in rotation across clinical areas and campuses. The incumbent understands and agrees to participation in on-call arrangements (including the Department's Emergency Clinical On-call Roster, which requires a 30 minute response time), shift work (including early, late and night), as well as weekends and public holidays.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance and Blue Card Checks.
