About the opportunity:
Position: Social Worker Cadet
Vacancy: Several Casual Positions available
Location: Social Work Department / Allied Health Services Division / Townsville University Hospital
This opportunity is for social work students to join our Social Work team at Townsville University Hospital. The social work cadet casual performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time or part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

- Salary range: $38.69 to $45.51 p.h. (HP1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- To be considered, a trainee must:
- o Be enrolled in full time or part time study at an Australian university, in an allied health degree whereby graduation from the course provides an entry level qualification mandatory for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.
- Have completed at least the 1st year of university studies (evidence of enrolment and successful year completion required).
- Appointment to this position requires proof of enrolement in a recognised Allied Health tertiary-level program that results in an Allied Health Profession qualification.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
