Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Work in close collaboration with MHSG teams, the Queensland Centre for Mental Health Learning; JCU, other universities and key colleagues within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and Mental Health Service Group in the research, planning, delivery of education and supporting/facilitating staff in the undertaking of staff development activities.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to develop, implement, and evaluate mental health education programs. This role focuses on enhancing clinical skills and building the capacity of our staff and communities. Enjoy a generous remuneration package valued up to $157,360 p.a., including:

  • Salary range: $4912.70 to $5286.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • All employees of the Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
