About the role:
Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant to deliver high-quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients and clients of our health service. Based at Townsville University Hospital (TUH), this full-time, permanent position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while dividing responsibilities equally between Respiratory and Internal Medicine.

As part of TUH's Respiratory Team, you will collaborate with six other Respiratory Consultants. While the current team has extensive expertise in many areas, there are clear opportunities to expand and develop services, particularly in the areas of interventional pulmonology, lung cancer, respiratory physiology, and asthma. Leadership roles are also available.

Research is encouraged and we are currently involved in multiple clinical trials. We have a close association with James Cook University and an academic appointment can be arranged.

  • Salary range: $8062.00 to $10221.70 p.f. (L18-L27)

Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) qualifications or equivalent.
  • Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Australia.
  • Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
  • Skills in interventional bronchoscopy such as EBUS would be highly desirable.
  • Travel: These positions may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
