About the opportunity:

Position: Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist (Respiratory / Internal Medicine)

Vacancy: Permanent Full-Time

Location: Respiratory and Sleep Unit / Internal Medicine / Medical Service Group / Townsville University Hospital

The role of the Staff Specialist is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS). This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

• 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

• Possession of a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) qualifications or equivalent.
• Respiratory position: Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Respiratory and Sleep Studies) or equivalent.
• Internal Medicine: Must have Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Australia and Fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
• Respiratory: Skills in interventional bronchoscopy such as EBUS would be highly desirable.
• Drivers Licence or desirable quals: A class C motor vehicle licence. etc.
• Travel: These positions may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
• Probation period may apply.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
