About the opportunity:

Position: Physiotherapist - Senior (Rehabilitation)

Vacancy: Fixed Term Temporary full-time from 30/06/3035 up to 21/09/2025 (with a possible extension not exceeding 12 months)

Location: Physiotherapy Department / Allied Health Service Division / Townsville University Hospital

The position contributes to a 7-day, extended-hours physiotherapy (Emergency Department) and on-call service.

  • Salary range: $4912.70 to $5286.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration

  • Possession of a qualification in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and current registration, or eligibility for current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill in physiotherapy relevant to rehabilitation services.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors regarding rehabilitation physiotherapy and service improvement opportunities.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in providing physiotherapy clinical services of a complex nature with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
