About the opportunity:

Position: Psychologist - Senior (Consultation Psychiatry and Addictions Service)

Vacancy: Temporary Full-time (08/09/2025- 26/10/2025 with a possible extension up to 2 years)

Location: Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, Mental Health Service Group, Townsville University Hospital

  • Salary range: $4912.70 to $5286.40 p.f. (HP4)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration 

  • The successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from accredited tertiary institution.
  • While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the mental Health Act 2000 would be well regarded.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • All positions appointed to Mental Health Service Group (MHSG) may be required to work in other areas of the Service.
  • This position required the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of is required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
