About the opportunity:
Position: Senior Medical Education Officer
Vacancy: Temporary Part-time (6 months up to 04/01/2026 with a possible extension up to 12 months) / 38 hours per fortnight
Location: Medical Education and Workforce Services / Corporate Service Group / Townsville University Hospital
The Senior Medical Education Officer will liaise with other Medial Education Staff and Senior Medical Staff to assess training needs for prevocational medical graduates, develop, enhance and deliver training to meet these needs, while contributing to achievement of required training programme accreditation.

- Salary range: $60.79 to $65.56 p.h. (PO4)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

Requirements:
Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration
- Tertiary-level qualification in either education or a health-related discipline is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in education and/or clinical teaching would be advantageous.
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
- Highly regarded: Understanding of curriculum assessment processes and procedures.
- Highly regarded: High level knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
- Probation period may apply.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
