The Joyce Palmer Health Service is an 11-bed primary-level acute facility located on the Aboriginal community of Palm Island. The facility is named after Joyce Palmer, a well-known Palm Island health worker. Joyce Palmer provided care to the people of Palm Island for more than 40 years until her retirement in 1984.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (NG6-1)
  • Annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Single on-site accommodation will be provided.
  • Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP) - successful applications may be eligible.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications (Nursing) and proof of registration (AHPRA).
  • Adult Life Support certificate.
  • Travel is a requirement of this position.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted, including criminal history clearance.
