Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking an experienced Operating Theatre Assistant to join the Operating Theatre Department at the Townsville University Hospital on a permanent part-time basis, working 38 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will be required to work am and pm shifts.

About the opportunity

The Operating Theatre Assistant assists nursing, medical and surgical staff within the 14 Operating theatre complex and outline areas to ensure a safe and efficient work area.

This position includes frequent and repetitive lifting, manual handling of medical equipment and patients. Appropriate manual handling will be provided.

The successful candidate will be required to work am and pm shifts.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $34.02 to $35.66 p.h. (OO3)
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata) with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Highly Desirable: Although not mandatory, qualifications relevant to the position would be well regarded.
  • Shifts: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
