About the role
These roles are suitable for students undertaking formal pre-entry qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution in the Social Work profession.
The social work trainee performs a range of clinical support activities and on the job skills development while engaged in formal full-time or part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

Competitive salary and benefits:

- Salary range: $30.95 to $36.41 p.h. (HP1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- To be considered, a trainee must:
- Be enrolled in full time or part time study at an Australian university, in an social work degree whereby graduation from the course provides an entry level qualification mandatory for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.
- Have enrolled or completed at least the 1st year of university studies (evidence of enrolment and successful year completion required).
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
