The Medical Service Group are seeking an experienced and client focused Clinical Nurse to join the Oncology Ward at Townsville University Hospital.

This is a temporary part-time role, up to 30/06/2028 (56 hours per fortnight). Please note there is a possibility of an extension not exceeding 3 years in total.

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise, education, leadership and support to nursing staff; utilising clinical skills, to provide patients within the oncology ward with quality patient care and the provision of best practice

Competitive salary and benefits:

  • Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30  p.h. (NG6-1)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of or working towards anti-cancer therapy administration and cellular therapy infusion.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
