  • Salary range: $4966.90 to $5758.70 p.f. (L4-L9 or L4-L7 dependent upon qualifications )
  • 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity

The primary function of the position is to provide high quality clinical care to patients of The Townsville Hospital. In addition, the Registrar will provide supervision of junior medical staff, including some responsibility for providing teaching to junior medical staff and medical students. Comprehensive post graduate training program is conducted at The Townsville Hospital.

Requirements:

Mandatory qualifications and proof of registration 

  • Degree Qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current General Registration as a medical practitioner or eligible for Current General Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated clinical experience and skills in medicine, for a wide range of procedures.
  • Highly regarded: Demonstrated willingness to participate in teaching at Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and demonstrated commitment to continuing Professional Education including maintenance of personal knowledge and skills.
  • Highly regarded: Proven ability to practice medicine in a cross-cultural environment.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
