- Salary range: $43.16 to $45.37 p.h. (CA3)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading

About your opportunity
The aim of the Queensland Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) is to reduce the harms associated with injecting drug use whilst not condoning drug use. The NSP aims to reduce the transmission of blood borne viruses such as hepatitis C (HCV), hepatitis B (HBV), HIV and injecting related injury and disease.
The purpose of the role is to minimize harm by improving access to sterile injecting equipment and the provision of quality health information and brief interventions for behaviour change.
Requirements:
- Desirable: Possess an Australian Qualification Framework Certificate III in Health or Community Services or working towards same. The course must be completed within 18 months of position commencement.
- This position requires the incumbent to operate a class “C” motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
- Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position. 5.1.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
