About the work unit / facility

The Central Sterilising Department (CSD) at Townsville University Hospital plays a vital role in ensuring the safe reprocessing of reusable medical devices for operating theatres, oral health services, wards, and external clients. The team supports other CSDs across the Townsville HHS, maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety.

Competitive salary and benefits

Remuneration is $35.92–$38.12 per hour (Nurse Grade 3). Additional benefits include salary sacrificing options, generous leave entitlements, and professional development support.

About your opportunity

This is a permanent part-time position with negotiable hours. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support sterilisation processes and uphold infection control standards.

Requirements

  • Diploma of Nursing and current AHPRA registration
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (or willingness to complete within 12 months)
  • Evidence of vaccination against VPDs and TB screening
  • Ability to work all shifts as per roster
  • Completion of Declaration of Serious Discipline Action Form
