About the work unit / facility
The Nursing and Midwifery Staffing Team (NMST) provides flexible workforce support across the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. Assistants in Nursing (AINs) are allocated on a shift-by-shift basis to a wide range of clinical units, including medical, surgical, mental health, maternity, intensive care, and more. They are also required to work all three shift types (morning, afternoon, and night duty).
AINs working within NMST have the opportunity to gain experience across both acute and non-acute settings, including adult, paediatric, and mental health services, as well as specialty areas such as community and rural healthcare. This dynamic allocation model supports the development of broad clinical skills and contributes to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the service.
