The Rural and Remote Mental Health Program provides mental health and alcohol and drugs services to rural and remote communities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service area.

Competitive salary and benefits:

We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.

  • Salary range: $3030.00 to $4453.50 p.f. (HP3)
  • Salary range: $4138.10 to $4431.10 p.f. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)
  • Annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

About your opportunity:

The mental health clinician will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and other service providers to provide specialist mental health and alcohol and drugs interventions for community members (and their families) across the lifespan who experience complex and severe problems relating to their mental health and/or alcohol, or other drug use disorders.

All rural and remote mental health clinicians are supported to draw on their clinical skills and experience and/or develop skills and knowledge to provide care.

Applications are being sought from Occupational Therapists or Psychologists or Social Workers or Nurses.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications (Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or Nursing) and proof of registration (if applicable)
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance.
