About the opportunity
The Senior Operating Theatre Assistant (Trainer) provides orientation, training and in servicing to all new and current Operating Theatre Assistants (OTA's) in equipment use, patient transfers, manual handling and tasks of an Operating Theatre Assistant. This role also assists nursing, medical and surgical staff within the 14 soon to be 15 Operating theatre complex and outlier areas to ensure a safe and efficient work area.
At times the Senior Operating Theatre Assistant will need to assist the Supervisor Special Services and Nurse Unit Manager Perioperative with leading the OTA team which includes rostering, staff allocation and Human Resource Management. This role also works within operating theatres performing the role of an OTA.
This opportunity is for an experienced Operating Theatre Assistant.

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $2818.50 to $3082.60 p.f. (OO4)
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
Requirements:
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
