What your day could look like

As Clinical Nurse Consultant, you'll play a critical role in supporting adults experiencing mental health crises across our region. From rapid, person‑centred assessment to cross‑team coordination, you'll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver responsive care that truly matters.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Leading advanced triage and assessment to create safe, timely care plans.
  • Partnering with ED, inpatient and community teams to deliver seamless responses.
  • Lifting capability through consultation, mentorship and reflective supervision.
  • Driving quality, safety and service improvements using data, risk insights and governance.

Let's talk about you!

You bring capability and care in equal measure. You think on your feet, act with integrity and dignity, and bring people with you in high‑stakes moments. You'll feel proud turning complex presentations into clear, person‑centred pathways that reduce risk and improve experiences—showing compassion, innovation and courage when it counts.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Current Registered Nurse registration (AHPRA/NMBA) with advanced mental health practice.
  • Proven expertise in crisis triage, comprehensive assessment, risk formulation and care planning.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, standards and safe, recovery‑oriented practice.
  • Confidence with clinical information systems; collaborative leader and effective mentor.

You'll stand out if you have postgraduate mental health nursing qualifications and/or eligibility (or commitment) to train as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner.

Most importantly, you're passionate about acute mental health care and ready to grow your impact in a regional service that values compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage. Together, we'll deliver safer care and better outcomes for our community.
