What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse, you'll play a critical role in elevating care for acutely unwell patients across our regional health service. From coordinating complex episodes to advancing quality standards, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver outcomes that matter for patients, families and the community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading coordination of complex care, applying advanced assessment and clinical judgement to achieve safer, faster recoveries.
- Driving quality portfolios aligned to national safety standards, turning audit insights into lasting improvements.
- Mentoring and guiding nurses and students, building capability and a positive, learning‑focused culture across shifts.
- Steering shift coordination and change initiatives, aligning people and resources to meet demand without compromising care.
Let's talk about you!
You bring capability and care in equal measure. You think on your feet, act with integrity, and create calm, confident teams in high‑stakes moments. You're proud of turning evidence into practice and shaping a culture where patients feel respected and colleagues feel supported. You're not here to tick boxes—you're here to create impact for today and spark innovation for tomorrow.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (AHPRA) and ongoing CPD.
- Advanced clinical skills in acute/critical care and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Proven experience leading quality improvement and safe work practices.
- A mentoring mindset with clear, compassionate communication.
You'll stand out with regional or rural experience and/or postgraduate study relevant to critical care. Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage.
Together, we deliver safer, kinder care—today and for tomorrow.
