What your day could look like

As an Operational Services Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients, residents and clinical teams by making sure the environment around them is safe, clean and running smoothly. From maintaining high hygiene standards to supporting everyday services that keep care delivery on track, your work directly contributes to comfort, dignity and positive health experiences.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Creating clean, safe and welcoming spaces that support patient wellbeing
  • Supporting food, laundry, waste and supply services that keep the health service operating seamlessly
  • Working closely with clinical and support teams to respond to changing needs with care and efficiency
  • Helping protect community health by following safety, infection control and food handling standards

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who takes pride in doing meaningful work and understands that small actions can make a big difference. You bring compassion to everything you do, treat people with dignity and respect, and take responsibility for creating safe, supportive environments. You'll feel proud knowing your work helps patients feel comfortable, staff feel supported and the community feel cared for.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Experience or knowledge in hospital, aged care or service‑based environments
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and stay calm in busy or changing situations
  • A strong focus on safety, hygiene and quality standards
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and grow

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in regional or rural settings and/or additional training in operational services, food handling or workplace safety.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by—compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—helping deliver care that truly matters to our community.
