What your day could look like

As an Operational Services Officer, you'll play a vital role in keeping our health service running smoothly and safely for patients, visitors and staff. From supporting patient care behind the scenes to maintaining clean, secure and functional environments, your work helps our community receive care with dignity and confidence. You'll be part of a supportive team where every contribution counts and no two days are the same.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Creating safe, clean and welcoming spaces that support positive patient experiences
  • Supporting patients and clinical teams through transport and non-clinical care assistance
  • Keeping essential services and equipment moving so care is delivered on time
  • Helping maintain secure, well-presented facilities that staff and the community can rely on

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who brings pride, care and accountability to everything you do. You stay calm under pressure, pitch in where needed and understand that small actions can make a big difference to patients and colleagues. You want to finish each shift knowing you've helped create a safer, more respectful healthcare environment. Guided by compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage, you're motivated by service, teamwork and community connection.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • A current C Class driver licence and the ability to work flexible shifts, including on-call
  • Physical capability to safely perform manual handling tasks
  • Experience working responsibly in service, facilities or support-based environments
  • A respectful, dependable approach and willingness to learn and adapt

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in healthcare or rural settings and additional training in safety, infection control or facilities support.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about supporting others and contributing to care that reflects Darling Downs Health values, every single day.

Together, you'll help deliver safe, compassionate care and strengthen the communities we serve.
