What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Primary Care, you'll play a vital role in strengthening health outcomes for patients and families across regional Queensland. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you'll balance hands‑on clinical practice with leadership, quality improvement and preventative care that supports healthier communities now and into the future.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading comprehensive primary care that supports prevention, chronic disease management and long‑term wellbeing
- Partnering with clinicians and care teams to coordinate safe, culturally responsive care
- Championing quality and safety initiatives that strengthen clinical standards and patient experiences
- Sharing expertise and mentoring others to build capability, confidence and connection across the service
Let's talk about you!
You're a confident and compassionate nurse who thrives in a community‑focused environment. You bring sound clinical judgement, curiosity and courage to your work, and you value relationships as much as outcomes. You take pride in delivering care that respects dignity, acts with integrity and adapts to the unique needs of rural communities. You're not here just to deliver care — you're here to shape it, improve it and be part of something that truly matters.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse, with strong clinical experience in primary or community care
- Advanced skills in preventative health and chronic disease management
- Confidence working autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to continuous improvement, quality care and patient safety
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health — Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage — and turn them into meaningful outcomes for patients and communities.
This role is about delivering care that lasts, leadership that lifts others, and impact that reaches far beyond the clinic.
