What your day could look like
As a Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients, families and the wider Cherbourg community to achieve better health outcomes. From delivering evidence‑based care to working closely with colleagues across disciplines, your work will be meaningful, varied and deeply connected to people and place.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Providing holistic nursing care that supports safety, recovery and wellbeing
- Using sound clinical judgement to respond confidently to changing patient needs
- Working collaboratively with the healthcare team to plan, deliver and evaluate care
- Supporting quality improvement, mentoring others and promoting a positive care culture
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who brings both capability and compassion to your nursing practice. You value connection, act with integrity, and take pride in delivering care that respects each person's dignity. You're motivated by making a genuine difference—building trust with patients, supporting colleagues, and contributing to a service the community relies on. This is a role where your skills, values and voice truly matter.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Solid clinical experience with the ability to deliver safe, evidence‑informed care
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused approach
- Commitment to learning, reflection and continuous improvement
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in rural or remote settings and/or postgraduate study relevant to your practice.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health—Compassion, Integrity, Dignity, Innovation and Courage—and use them to create positive outcomes every day.
