What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Mental Health, you'll play a vital role in supporting adults living with mental ill health across the local community. From delivering advanced clinical care to guiding shared decision‑making, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes that matter to patients and families.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering person‑centred mental health care that supports recovery, stability and independence
- Partnering with clinicians, services and community agencies to coordinate seamless care
- Applying advanced clinical judgement to manage complexity, risk and change with confidence
- Leading by example through quality improvement, mentoring and evidence‑based practice
Let's talk about you!
You're a clinician who combines strong expertise with genuine care. You bring calm leadership to complex situations, communicate with empathy, and value relationships as much as outcomes. You take pride in helping people feel heard, supported and hopeful, while strengthening the services that support them. Guided by compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage, you're motivated by making a real difference in a regional community — with practical relocation supports available to help you settle locally.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with authority to practise in Australia
- Demonstrated experience in adult mental health nursing and community‑based care
- Strong clinical judgement, collaboration skills and commitment to safe, quality practice
You'll stand out if you bring experience in rural or community mental health settings and/or postgraduate study or specialist credentials in mental health nursing.
At its heart, this role is about using your expertise to improve lives, strengthen community wellbeing and live the values that define Darling Downs Health.
