What your day could look like
As a Clinical Nurse – Adolescent Mental Health, you'll play a vital role in supporting young people and their families through highly vulnerable and defining moments. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll combine advanced clinical judgement with calm leadership to help deliver safe, person‑centred care that makes a genuine difference for the community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Guiding and coordinating complex mental health care to support recovery, safety, and wellbeing
- Leading clinical decision‑making and supporting colleagues through challenging situations
- Partnering with families and team members to create collaborative, holistic care pathways
- Driving quality, safety, and improvement initiatives that strengthen care delivery and outcomes
Your work supports not just individual patients, but the confidence, capability, and culture of the wider team.
Let's talk about you!
You're a nurse who brings capability and compassion together with confidence. You stay grounded under pressure, lead with integrity, and know how to support others through complexity and change. You take pride in helping young people feel heard, safe, and supported, while fostering teamwork and professionalism around you. Above all, you're motivated by making a meaningful difference and contributing to care you'd be proud to stand behind.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration (or eligibility) as a Registered Nurse in Australia
- Experience in mental health care with strong clinical judgement and problem‑solving skills
- A collaborative mindset, with confidence to guide and support others
- Commitment to compassionate, safe, and person‑centred practice
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have postgraduate study in mental health and/or experience stepping into clinical leadership roles.
Most importantly, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health—compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage—into every interaction. This role is about leading care that truly matters.
