What your day could look like

As an Allied Health Workforce Development Officer, you'll play a key role in strengthening how allied health services support patients and communities across Darling Downs. By improving workforce capability, sustainability and service design, you'll help teams deliver high‑quality care where it's needed most. From shaping future‑focused workforce strategies to partnering with senior leaders, your work will have a visible, lasting impact.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Designing and leading workforce initiatives that improve service sustainability, capability and patient outcomes
  • Partnering with allied health leaders to support service redesign, change and innovation across multiple professions
  • Translating data, evidence and research into practical workforce solutions and development pathways
  • Leading projects that influence how allied health services grow, adapt and thrive across diverse settings

Let's talk about you!

You're someone who sees the bigger picture and knows how to bring people along with you. You lead with compassion, communicate with integrity, and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo when it leads to better outcomes. What motivates you isn't just delivery — it's knowing your work strengthens teams, supports clinicians, and improves care for communities across the region. You'll feel proud seeing ideas turn into action and lasting change.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Registration or membership with a recognised allied health professional body
  • Experience applying workforce, service or system‑level thinking within complex health environments
  • Highly developed communication skills to influence, negotiate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Confidence leading projects, change or cross‑disciplinary initiatives

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in regional or rural health settings and/or postgraduate study or advanced training in leadership, workforce or service improvement.

Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health — compassion, dignity, integrity, innovation and courage — using them to create meaningful, sustainable impact for our workforce and community.

This role is about shaping the future of allied health while living our values and making a difference that lasts.
