What your day could look like
As a Senior Occupational Therapist – Allied Health Extended Service, you'll play a vital role in helping patients move safely and confidently through their care journey across inpatient and outpatient settings. From contributing expert clinical decisions to collaborating across teams, your work will directly support timely care, improved outcomes, and a health service that keeps people at the centre of everything it does.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Delivering advanced occupational therapy input that supports safe discharge, recovery, and meaningful participation for patients with complex needs
- Working collaboratively across disciplines to improve patient flow and continuity of care, particularly across extended service periods
- Leading quality and service improvements that enhance care delivery and strengthen occupational therapy practice
- Sharing your expertise through supervision, mentoring, and contribution to education or service development initiatives
Let's talk about you!
You're an experienced clinician who brings both confidence and compassion to your practice. You take pride in your professional judgement, value teamwork, and remain calm and thoughtful when navigating complexity. What drives you is knowing that your expertise helps people regain independence and dignity, while supporting a health service that truly values integrity, innovation, and courage. You're not just delivering therapy — you're helping shape better experiences for patients, families, and colleagues alike.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the relevant national board
- Strong experience delivering evidence‑based care with complex or diverse caseloads
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive mindset focused on quality improvement and patient‑centred outcomes
You'll stand out if you bring experience in service development, clinical leadership, or regional practice, and/or postgraduate study or additional training.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation, and courage — creating care you're proud of and outcomes the community can trust.
