What your day could look like
As a Therapy Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in supporting adults to regain function, confidence and quality of life across rehabilitation, geriatric and stroke services. From working directly with patients to collaborating with allied health professionals, your contribution helps deliver safe, compassionate care where it matters most.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Supporting patients with supervised therapies that improve mobility, function and daily living
- Delivering group and individual activities that build independence and confidence
- Working closely with allied health and multidisciplinary teams to support consistent care
- Sharing observations and insights that help shape positive patient outcomes
Let's talk about you!
You're practical, caring and motivated by making a real difference to people's lives. You bring compassion to every interaction, take responsibility for your work, and value being part of a team that supports each other and the community. You'll feel proud knowing your work helps people recover, adapt and live well.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Experience supporting clinical care under allied health supervision
- Strong communication skills and respect for scope of practice
- Good organisation, initiative and a team-focused mindset
- Willingness to work weekends, public holidays and across locations
You'll stand out if you bring formal allied health assistance training or experience across rehabilitation or aged care settings.
Most importantly, you'll share Darling Downs Health values—compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage—and use them to support better outcomes for patients and community.
