What your day could look like
As an Operational Services Officer, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients, staff and the wider health service by keeping environments safe, clean and running smoothly. From assisting with patient movement to ensuring facilities are well maintained, your work helps deliver quality care and positive experiences across the hospital.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Helping create safe, clean and welcoming spaces that support quality patient care
- Assisting with patient movement and basic care tasks alongside clinical teams
- Supporting essential services like cleaning, waste management, transport and catering
- Maintaining equipment, facilities and grounds to ensure everything runs reliably
Let's talk about you!
You're practical, dependable and take pride in helping others. You stay calm under pressure, work well in a team, and approach every task with care and respect. Whether you're supporting patients directly or working behind the scenes, you know your contribution matters and take ownership of delivering a safe, positive environment for everyone.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Experience in operational or support services, ideally in healthcare or similar settings
- Strong awareness of safety, hygiene and manual handling practices
- Ability to prioritise tasks and respond flexibly in a fast-paced environment
- A team-focused mindset with a genuine commitment to respectful, compassionate service
You'll stand out if you have experience in hospital support roles or working in regional or remote settings, and confidence in supporting patient movement and care tasks. Most importantly, you're motivated to make a real difference every day and be part of a team that values compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage.
