What your day could look like
As a Social Worker, you'll play a meaningful role in supporting people through complex life situations, helping them navigate care with dignity and confidence. From delivering person-centred interventions to collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, your work will create positive outcomes across the community.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Providing holistic social work support that improves wellbeing for individuals and families across varied care settings
- Partnering with healthcare professionals to guide care decisions and advocate for the best possible outcomes
- Managing a diverse caseload while building trusted relationships with patients, carers and community groups
- Contributing to service improvements, education, and initiatives that strengthen care delivery across the region
Let's talk about you!
You're a compassionate and capable professional who brings empathy, sound judgement and a collaborative mindset to your work. You build trust quickly, communicate with purpose, and stay grounded in ethical, person-centred practice. Whether supporting someone through a challenging time or working alongside a team to improve care, you take pride in making a real difference in people's lives. You're motivated by connection, growth, and the chance to contribute to healthier communities.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and eligibility for professional membership
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed care within a team environment
- Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt in a dynamic healthcare setting
You'll stand out if you bring experience working in rural or regional communities and/or a passion for ongoing learning, research, or student supervision.
Above all, you'll bring the values we live by at Darling Downs Health: compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage.
In this role, your work will strengthen community wellbeing while shaping a more connected, responsive health service.
