What your day could look like
As a Registered Nurse in theatre bookings, you'll play a vital role in ensuring patients move through their surgical journey safely and on time. From coordinating readiness for procedures to partnering with clinical teams, your work supports better outcomes and a more connected healthcare experience.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Coordinating elective surgery bookings to ensure patients receive care within clinically appropriate timeframes
- Assessing and confirming patient readiness, providing guidance and clear pre-operative communication
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to streamline workflows and improve scheduling outcomes
- Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, supporting quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Let's talk about you!
You're someone who combines clinical confidence with genuine care. You communicate clearly, make thoughtful decisions, and build strong relationships across teams. You take pride in ensuring patients feel informed and supported, knowing your coordination helps them access care sooner. Guided by compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage, you bring both professionalism and purpose to every interaction.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the appropriate professional body
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience in surgical or perioperative environments
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication skills with a focus on patient-centred care
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in surgical waitlist management or hold postgraduate qualifications relevant to perioperative care. Most importantly, you're passionate about improving access to care and making a meaningful difference in a regional community.
In this role, your coordination and care will directly support timely surgery and better outcomes for patients, reflecting the values that guide Darling Downs Health.
