What your day could look like

As a Principal House Officer/Registrar, you'll play a critical role in delivering urgent, high-quality care to a diverse regional community. From rapid clinical decision-making to collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, your work directly improves patient outcomes and strengthens the emergency care system.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

  • Delivering timely assessment, diagnosis and treatment that improves patient flow and outcomes
  • Working closely with senior clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, coordinated care
  • Guiding and supporting junior staff while building your own clinical capability
  • Strengthening continuity of care through clear documentation, planning and communication

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

  • Medical degree and current (or eligible) registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Strong clinical capability with the ability to manage varied presentations in emergency settings
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary environments
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and continuous learning

You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience in regional or rural healthcare and/or are pursuing further specialist training in emergency medicine.
